No, these are not the keywords that are given by the authors to the publisher/repository. This parameter is used to support a keyword search functionality in various fields (e.g., for research products the keywords are used to search in the product's title, description, authors, etc). Regarding the semantics, when you provide multiple keywords, all keywords should be present, hence the correct interpretations is kwd1 AND kw2.
